This here watch, they call it the OMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime. Sounds fancy, right? It ain’t no ordinary watch, that’s for sure. It’s for them rich folks, the ones with more money than sense, I reckon. But I tell you, even I gotta say, it’s a sight to behold.
This thing, it’s big, too. 45 mm, they say. Whatever that means. Big enough to see from across the room, that’s for certain. And shiny! Oh, it gleams like a freshly polished tractor. You could almost see your face in it, if you squint real hard.
They say it’s made special. You know, like them old-timey fiddles. They use some fancy wood, walnut, I think they called it. For the box, mind you, not the watch itself. The box! Can you believe it? A fancy box for a fancy watch. Like a pig in a silk dress, some might say.
Now, this watch, it’s got a dark face. Like a moonless night, you know? Makes it hard to see the time, I’d think. But maybe that’s the point. Maybe them rich folks don’t need to know the time. They just need to know they got a fancy watch on their wrist.
Purchasing one of these things, well, that’s a whole other story. You can’t just walk into any old store and get one. No sir. You gotta know somebody who knows somebody, I’d wager. And you gotta have a whole heap of money. More money than I’ve seen in my whole life, probably.
- First off, you gotta find a place that even sells ’em.
- Then, you gotta convince ’em you’re worthy.
- And finally, you gotta fork over the dough.
And it ain’t just a little bit of money, neither. We’re talking serious cash. Enough to buy a whole farm, maybe even two. Enough to feed a family for years. But hey, who am I to judge? If you got the money, and you want a fancy watch, then you go right ahead.
They say this OMEGA company, they been doing this for a long time. Making watches, I mean. They even time them Olympics, you know, the big games they have every few years. They been doing that for longer than I’ve been alive, I reckon. Started when they had horses instead of cars, even.
So, I guess they know what they’re doing. Making these fancy watches, timing them races. It’s all beyond me, really. But I can appreciate a good piece of work when I see it. And this Speedmaster Chrono Chime, it’s a piece of work, alright.
They say it chimes, too. Like a little bell. Can you imagine? A watch that rings. What will they think of next? Probably a watch that makes you coffee. Wouldn’t that be something?
But for most folks, a regular watch is good enough. The kind you wind up, or the kind with a battery. The kind that tells the time, plain and simple. No bells and whistles. Just the time.
This Chrono Chime watch from Omega is a real good watch if you have a lot of money. If you want to buy it, you should have more money. This watch can do a lot of things, it is very good.
If you want to spend that kind of money on a watch. That’s for them that has it, I suppose. They also need to know the right people to get one. It ain’t like picking up eggs at the market, that’s for sure. You can’t just show up with money and say give me one, it is not like that. You gotta know how to get it. If you know how, then you are good. If you don’t, that is no good.
This is a good watch for purchasing if you have money and you know people. This Omega Speedmaster Chrono Chime is really good watch for rich people.
It’s a fine piece of machinery, no doubt about it. But for me, I’ll stick to my old Timex. It gets the job done. That is all I need.
