Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Planet Ocean 600m/2000ft watch for a while now. You know, the classic style one. It’s a beauty, and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get my hands on it. I figured I’d document the whole process, just for fun and maybe it’ll be useful for someone else out there.
First things first, I started digging around for information. I mean, this isn’t a cheap watch, so I wanted to be absolutely sure about what I was getting into. I spent hours reading reviews, watching videos, and comparing different models. It was a bit of a rabbit hole, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
Next, I started hunting for a good deal. I checked out a bunch of different stores, both online and offline. I compared prices, looked for discounts, and even considered buying used. After a lot of back and forth, I found a pretty sweet deal. I pulled the trigger.
Then came the waiting game. It felt like forever, but finally, the day arrived. I got a notification that my watch was ready. I rushed to pick it up, and when I finally got that box in my hands, it was like Christmas morning. I carefully opened it up, and there it was, the OMEGA Planet Ocean, looking even better in person than in the pictures. Man, the feeling was good!
Unboxing and First Impressions
The unboxing experience was pretty neat. OMEGA doesn’t mess around with their packaging. It’s all very sleek and professional. The box was nicely made. Inside, the watch was nestled safely in a plush cushion.
- First impression: This thing is solid. It’s got some real weight to it, which I like. It feels substantial and well-built.
- The dial: The black dial is super clean and easy to read. The orange accents really pop. And the date window is discreetly placed at the 3 o’clock position.
- The bezel: The ceramic bezel is unidirectional, which is what you want in a dive watch. It rotates smoothly with a satisfying click.
- The bracelet: The stainless steel bracelet is comfortable and feels secure on my wrist. It has a diver’s extension, which is a nice touch, even though I probably won’t be using it for actual diving. It was tough to resize it, and I broke the tips of two screwdrivers. I found a local watchmaker to help me.
I strapped it on my wrist, and it felt great. The size is perfect. It’s not too big or too small. It’s just right. I spent the rest of the day just admiring it. I kept checking the time, not because I needed to, but just because I wanted to look at the watch. I took it off after dinner and kept it under the light to charge it’s illuminating hands and markers. It was pretty cool to see it glow in the dark. I am very happy to get this timepiece. It made me feel accomplished. I can’t wait to wear it more.
So, yeah, that’s my story of getting the OMEGA Planet Ocean. I wore it to work and even to the gym. It held up pretty well. No issues so far. It’s a fantastic watch. I’m super happy with it. I’ll probably do an update later on after I’ve had it for a while and really put it through its paces. But for now, I’m just going to enjoy this beauty.
