Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little adventure I had recently. So, I’ve always been a bit of a watch guy, right? Not a snob or anything, just appreciate a good timepiece. Now, I’d heard of the “Dark Side of the Moon” Speedmasters before, but this one, with the little rocket, it just spoke to me. I started digging around, you know, reading reviews, comparing prices on different websites. Ended up finding a decent deal on a website, but I was still hesitant. I mean, it’s not pocket change we’re talking about here.
So I reached out to their customer service, they have these luxury watch specialists. The guy I talked to was pretty knowledgeable, answered all my questions, even the dumb ones, without making me feel like an idiot. That’s a big plus in my book. After a few chats, I felt comfortable enough to take the plunge. I placed the order, a bit nervous, but mostly excited.
A few days later, it arrived. I ripped open that package like a kid on Christmas morning. And there it was, even better in person. The black ceramic case, the skeletonized dial, it’s just stunning. And that little rocket on the sub-dial, it’s a conversation starter for sure.
- The dial has three little sub-dials, pretty standard for a chronograph, but the way they’re designed, it’s just so clean and easy to read.
- On the right, at 3 o’clock, that’s the 30-minute counter.
- At 6 o’clock, you’ve got the 12-hour counter.
- And over at 9 o’clock, that’s where the small seconds hand chills out.
I’ve been wearing it for a couple of weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m in love. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish, and it’s got that cool factor that just makes me smile every time I look at it. Plus, knowing it’s a nod to the Apollo 8 mission, that’s just icing on the cake.
