Alright, folks, let’s dive into my little project from the other day. I got my hands on this Copy OMEGA Speedmaster, the 310.92.44.50.01.001 model, also known as the Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” – Rocket. Let me tell you, it’s a real looker.
First things first, I started by unwrapping this beauty. It’s a solid 44.25mm watch, and the black ceramic case is just something else. I paired it with a brown leather strap I had lying around, and man, it’s a match made in heaven. The original strap it came with was fine, but I’m really feeling this classic, worn leather vibe.
Then I started looking at the details. I checked the bezel. The bezel is brushed black ceramic, which is pretty slick, and it has a tachymeter scale. This scale is filled with white Super-LumiNova, so it glows in the dark. I tested it out, and yep, it’s functional.
After that, I got down to business with the movement. This thing is powered by the 9300 calibre movement, or some version of it, at least. I opened up the case back – carefully, of course – and took a peek. It’s intricate, to say the least. I spent a good chunk of time just observing how it all works. It looks like it was put together well and I played around with it to test out the precision. It seems to be keeping time accurately, which is what matters.
Now, I’m no expert, but I’ve been doing some digging online. I checked out a few forums and saw some other folks talking about this model. It’s definitely popular, and it seems like it’s going for a decent price online.
My Impression
