You see, this here watch, it’s called a Patek Philippe. Fancy name, ain’t it? They call this one the Calatrava 5227J-001. It’s somethin’ special, this one is. It’s a remake, you know? Like the ones they make now. Not one of them old ones, but it looks just like it.
I seen some pictures online, they call it an “Album”, this fella paid 498 dollars for this watch. That’s a lot of money! Includes the shippin’, though.
Now, this Patek Philippe Calatrava, they say it’s a real good watch. Been around for a long time, more than 90 years! That’s older than me! They first made these in 1932. Imagine that.
This one, the 5227J-001, it’s special. It’s like two of the best watches they ever made, all rolled into one. They call one of ’em the Calatrava. It’s a simple watch, but a good one.
They started makin’ this 5227J-001 back in 2013. It’s a new one, but it looks like the old ones. It’s got a yellow gold case. Pretty, ain’t it? They say it’s 39mm. That’s how big it is, I reckon.
I hear some folks talkin’, wonderin’ if these Patek Philippe Calatrava watches are worth all that money. Well, that depends, don’t it? If you got the money, and you like it, then maybe it is. It’s a real fancy watch. Lots of folks want one.
But you know, it’s probably not the kinda watch you wear every day. It’s too nice for that. You might bang it up. It’s one of them watches you wear when you go to a fancy party, or somethin’ like that. Or a wedding, maybe. Not for everyday wear.

They say two of ’em, the Nautilus 5711/1A and the Aquanaut 5167/1A-001, they’re real special. They say those two are worth even more money later on. I don’t know about all that, but that’s what they say.
Some people talk about Rolex watches, too. They say they’re good watches, too. Strong, they say. The Submariner and the Daytona, those are Rolex watches. But these Patek Philippe ones, they got somethin’ special about ’em. They’re rare, they say. And they got all these little parts inside, workin’ together. It’s like magic, almost. They call it “complex craftsmanship.”
This here Patek Philippe, the Calatrava 5227J-001, it’s a good one. If you’re lookin’ for a fancy watch, this might be the one for you. But it’s gonna cost ya. And you might have to wait a while to get it. But if you got the time and the money, it’s a beauty, that’s for sure.
This here Calatrava 5227J-001, it got a caliber 324 S C inside it. I don’t know what that means but it sounds important. They say it “beats” at 28,800 vph, I guess that’s how fast it ticks. Got 217 parts inside! Can you imagine, 217 parts in a little old watch? It’s somethin’, ain’t it?
You know, if you really want one of these Patek Philippe watches, you gotta go to one of their special stores. They call them “boutiques”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? I hear there’s one of them places not too far from here. Maybe I’ll go take a look sometime, just to see what all the fuss is about.
Remake Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227J-001, it’s a fancy thing, I’ll give you that. But I think I’d rather have a new tractor for that kind of money. Or maybe a whole bunch of chickens.
