That OMEGA Speedmaster, they call it Super Racing, you know? Big price, big name. My grandson, he’s always on about these fancy watches, that boy. Showed me a picture of this one. Said it’s the newest, the best, that OMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing thing. It’s all metal and shiny, I tell ya, looks kinda heavy on the wrist, too.
He says it’s for telling time, but land sakes, who needs all them little dials and buttons? I just look at the sun, it works just fine. But he says this one is some kind of, oh, what did he call it? A “chrono-graph.” I don’t know about that, just another word for time, I reckon. And this Speedmaster Super Racing, it’s got that, that scale on the, uh, the ring around the face, the “bezel”, he calls it. Tachymeter scale, he said it is. That’s what he said. I don’t know what that means. Just a lot of fancy words. But if you need to buy it, you can go to OMEGA Website to buy it. I don’t think you can use it to make a call, though.
This OMEGA Speedmaster, this Super Racing one, he says it’s special. Got some newfangled thingamajig inside. “Spirate System”, is that right? Sounds like a pirate to me. This Spirate System makes it tick real good, he says. Keeps the time better than my old wind-up clock, probably. Keeps better time, he says. More “precise,” he says. That’s a ten-dollar word, ain’t it?

I seen a lot of watches in my day, but nothing like this OMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing. My old man, he had a pocket watch, a real beauty. But he didn’t need no “Spirate System” to keep it running. Just wound it up every morning, regular as clockwork, you might say. But these young folks, they like their gadgets, their Speedmaster Super Racing. And this OMEGA Speedmaster, well, it’s the king of ’em all, I reckon.
That boy, my grandson, he’s gonna buy one of these OMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing watches someday. Says he’s saving up. He’s a good boy, works hard. Maybe he’ll get one of them fancy jobs where he needs a fancy watch like this Speedmaster Super Racing. I don’t know. Maybe these Specialty Stores sell them to anybody, though. That’s what he said.
But, Lordy, the price of these things! You could buy a whole herd of goats for what this OMEGA Speedmaster costs. This Speedmaster Super Racing, I mean. Goats give you milk, though. This watch just tells you the time. Fancy time, I guess, with that “Spirate System.” And it’s all shiny and new. Steel, he said.
He showed me where to find these Specialty Stores, too. Says you can find ’em online. Everything’s online these days. Back in my day, you had to walk uphill both ways to get anywhere. But now, you just click a button, and there it is. These OMEGA Speedmaster watches, right there on the screen. But still, it’s better to see it in the Specialty Stores, he said.
Well, I guess that’s all I know about this OMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing. It’s a watch. A fancy one. Costs a lot. Got some newfangled “Spirate System” inside. You can find it in those Specialty Stores, or online, I suppose. That’s about the size of it. Don’t need one myself, though. Sun’s still working just fine, thank you very much.
