Yves Saint Laurent ENVELOPE BAG Remake: Classic Style on a Budget

Alright, let’s gab about this YSL Envelope bag, the one they call “classic style.” You know, the one all them fancy ladies carry. I ain’t no fancy lady, but I seen enough purses in my day to know a thing or two.

First off, what’s this YSL all about? Sounds like some kinda secret code, don’t it? Well, it’s just some fella’s name, Yves Saint Laurent. He was a big shot designer, made all sorts of clothes and stuff. Now, they got this bag, the Envelope bag, and it’s supposed to be somethin’ special. I heard tell he even named a bag after some woman, Loulou somethin’-or-other. Folks pay big money for these things, lord knows why.

I seen pictures of it online. They call it the YSL Envelope bag because, well, it looks like a letter, you know, an envelope. It’s got this flap that folds over, and most of ‘em have a chain so you can sling it over your shoulder. They come in all sorts of colors and sizes, I reckon. Some small, some big, some in between. I saw one they called “medium,” about, what, nine inches wide and six inches high? That’s what they said, anyway. Sounds big enough to hold my spectacles and a bit of change, I guess.

Now, where can you get one of these fancy bags? Well, I hear tell there’s stores called Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Never been to one myself, but I bet they got all sorts of fancy things in there. They sell these YSL bags, and you can even order ’em online, they say. Can you imagine? Buyin’ somethin’ that expensive without even touchin’ it first? Lands sakes!

They got different kinds too. Like some called Cassandre, big and small. And some called just plain Envelope, also big and small. And then there’s the prices. Lordy! I seen numbers like $800, $900, even more! For a purse! Shoot, I could buy a whole cow for that much money. And another bag called the “Le 5 a 7”? Sounds like some kinda train schedule. They say it’s special and go up in value, like a collectible. Hmph, probably just a way to get more money outta folks.

  • YSL Envelope Bag Price: Too darn expensive, if you ask me. But they start around eight hundred and go up from there.
  • YSL Envelope Bag Sizes: Comes in small, medium, and large, just like clothes. Enough to confuse an old woman like me.
  • Where to Buy YSL Envelope Bag: Fancy stores like Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, or you can get ’em online, which I don’t recommend. Gotta feel the leather, you know? Make sure it ain’t no fake.

Now, I heard some folks sayin’ you can get these bags cheaper over in Europe. Paris, they say. Something about the prices being lower and you can get some money back on the taxes. Sounds like a whole lotta trouble to me. Why would you fly all the way to Paris just to save a few dollars on a purse? Makes no sense.

So, is this YSL Envelope bag worth all the fuss? I don’t know. Seems like a mighty expensive way to carry your stuff. But then again, I ain’t never been one for fancy things. I reckon if you got the money and you like the way it looks, go ahead and buy it. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you realize you coulda bought a whole new set of pots and pans for the same price. And folks say you just payin’ for the name, not the materials or quality. Like them other fellas, what’s their names, Chanel and Dior. All the same, I say. Just fancy names and fancy prices.

But hey, I ain’t here to judge. If you wanna spend your hard-earned cash on a YSL Envelope bag, that’s your business. Just make sure you know what you’re gettin’ into. Don’t let them fancy sales folks fool ya. And for goodness sake, don’t go puttin’ it on no credit card. That’s how folks get into trouble, you know. Start buyin’ things they can’t afford, just to keep up with the Joneses. It ain’t worth it, I tell ya. A good sturdy handbag from the local store will do just fine. But that’s just my two cents.

In the end, it’s just a bag. It ain’t gonna make you any happier or prettier or smarter. It’s just a place to put your stuff. And if you ask me, that’s all a bag needs to be. But what do I know? I’m just an old woman who’s seen a lot of things come and go. Fads, they call ‘em. This YSL thing is probably just another fad. Here today, gone tomorrow. Mark my words.
